Which Glossier Product Is Right For You?

10-IMG_1619.jpg

I've avoided monthly favorites for awhile because I've felt uninspired. I figured if I was bored writing it, you'd be bored reading it, too. This month, I decided to test out something different.

If you follow me on Instagram, you've witnessed my love of Glossier. I love their skin-first mentality and they're focus on ease. Glossier makes products for busy people, and in this day and age, I think everyone can appreciate that.  So, how does Glossier make sense in a monthly favorites post? Here's the idea:

I've rounded up all of this month's blog posts, and my rather extensive Glossier collection, and I've paired each product with a post. Presumably, whichever post you most connected with will have a Glossier favorite that's right for you!

Let's do this!

If, like me, you're prone to allergies, this Milky Jelly Cleanser might be the one for you. Lots of face washes irritate my sensitive skin, and I emerge from the shower with strawberry face. This cleanser makes my face feel clean without the irritation, and equally as great, it isn't drying. One caveat - don't expect this cleanser to perform miracles removing eye makeup. The Glossier website claims it "dissolves away makeup" and that has not been my experience. For me, that's not a deal breaker, but perhaps it is for you.

The Post - A Pear In Plaid

The Product - Cloud Paint in Dusk & Beam

If you're also on the hunt for a new adventure or a new outlook, may I recommend Cloud Paint? These liquid blushes are blendable, buildable and mixable, so everyday your blush color can be new, too. I'm not usually one for liquid blushes, but these are so easy to use that I've changed my ways. The two orangey tones suit me best, but there are two pink options, too. The caveat for this one: if you have oily skin these may not be for you. I have combination skin, and on my oily days these paints tend to disappear rather quickly.

If, like Jess, you love sparkle, Haloscope could be your best bet. This stick highlighter, while subtle, is mighty. Whenever I use it, my skin just looks better. I feel healthier just looking at my glowy reflection. I wouldn't recommend it if you love loud and proud highlighters, but for daily use, you can't go wrong with Haloscope. I've only used this Quartz shade, and according to the multitude of beauty Youtubers I've watched, it's supposedly the best one.

The Product - Generation G in Leo

If, for the first time in your life, you're embracing shades of brown (not all browns! just some!), might I recommend this Generation G lipstick in Leo? I love these lipsticks because they're easy. No lipliner. No mess. You barely even need a mirror. They start semi-sheer and build easily, stay in place and have a matte (but not vacuum-sealed) finish. Brown might seem like a strange shade for lipstick, but with this formula your lip color peaks through, and the final effect is cool. My friend Stephanie has this shade, too, and she described it as the perfect lipstick if you want to look like a Madewell model. So, if Madewell and brown are currently your jam, give this a go.

If you also find any excuse to celebrate, you need this Balm Dotcom in Birthday. I am addicted to this stuff. It's the perfect balm, not too sticky and not too thick, with just a hint of shimmer. It's not sparkly, but reflective. I use this whenever I want to look a bit more put-together without doing full fledged makeup. It also just makes your lips feel festive. Like a celebration, if you will.

If, like Stacy, you're willing to make a statement with your look, the choice is obvious: Generation G in Zip. I initially tried it for the Mini Lab Five Days, Five Red Lipsticks - A Mini Lab Adventure, and I still love it as much now as I did then. Like the Leo shade above, this formula is heaven, but this red shade adds an extra pop. Whenever I need a bit of pick-me-up, it's my go-to lip product for day. On the other hand, I love layering it up for a night out or an audition. Please buy this, just so I have someone to talk to about it (and because you'll love it, of course.)

So, there we have it!

Did this revamped version of monthly favorites float your boat? Would you like to see something similar next month? Please leave me a comment below, and I'll plan accordingly.

And as always, if you'd like to talk about Glossier, I'm here for you. I'll be back with another Stitch Fix Review on Wednesday. Until then, come say hi on Instagram
