We're Moving!

Big news!

We’re

moving

to London!

Early next year, we’re saying, “See ya, Seattle!” and moving across the pond! I am so excited!

In many ways, Seattle has been wonderful. I met my husband. Our son was born here. I have made friendships that I treasure. I have grown as an actor in ways I likely couldn’t have in a larger city. But, even with all of that, Seattle has never felt like my place. In a blog post in 2018, I said, Seattle is “not the easiest fit for me. Sometimes it can feel a bit like wearing wet jeans - they’re on, they’re the right size, but they’re still chafing.” And that chafing feeling has never, truly, gone away.

We’re technically moving because of a career opportunity for my husband, but I’m also excited for me! I’m excited for a fresh start in a fashion forward city. I’m so curious to see how Londoners dress and I’m so curious to see how I’ll dress, too! In my last post, I talked about feeling like I’ve lost my identity. I’ve reembarked on this fashion experiment to figure how out who this new, current, version of me wants to be. This move is just what I need, both at a fun, fashion level, but at a deeper, personal level, too.

I’ll be back in a few days with my Goodbye Seattle Bucket List, a long, long, loooooooong, list of all the adventures, meals, and shopping I want to do before we go.

Have you made a big move to a new city? Do you have any advice for us? Have you been to London? Do you have favorite places you’d like to share? I’m all ears! There’s the comment box at the bottom of this post, but I love to receive emails or DMs, too.
